This needs to be discussed
This is my 7 month old son Gideon. |
It's been months since Gideon has been weighed. I usually have him weighed at the WIC office every 3 months. I've been avoiding it like the plague. Why you might ask? Because every time I have him weighed they tell me he is under weight. They have a chart that measures babies weight by months of age. Since birth Gideon has been just a under the normal weight range. They keep telling me he is a perfectly healthy and happy baby. Then why this concern over his weight?
This has been stressing me out. Every time I go to get WIC vouchers I have to weigh Gideon. I leave stressed out. My stress causes Gideon to become stressed and eventually Bryan comes home to a stressed out mother and child. This needs to be discussed. I feel like Gideon is perfectly healthy. Unfortunately being overweight has become the norm in this country.
The subject in question is obesity. Child obesity to be exact. I am not trying to offend anyone. I am only here to state facts and concerns. Obesity is a disease. It is not something to be normalized or taken lightly. People who speak openly about the dangers of obesity have been labeled as fat shaming or judging. This is completely ridiculous! 1 out of every 3 children in this country are obese. This is very concerning considering the risks involved with obesity. The excuse that it runs in the family is false. Human beings are not biologically designed to be obese. It's uncomfortable, it's hard on the joints, it leads other diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes shall I continue...
The only thing that runs in our families is a terrible diet. The end result of obesity is surgery. People have their stomachs stapled to control their hunger and weight or they have liposuction. This is a vicious cycle and it's all cause by diet.
This is not normal. We are physiologically designed to be at a normal healthy weight. |
Fat cells are formed from over consumption of food plus lack of exercise. Also from over consumption of toxins. Toxins come in many forms. They're in the air we breath the water we drink but most importantly in the food we eat. Toxins are stored in the bodies fat cells. I am right in the obese section of the body mass index scale. Every time I eat toxic processed foods and sometimes just cooked foods this brain fog sets in. I am less attentive, I become irritable and lazy. I hate it! Not only do I hate the way I look, I hate the way I feel and I hate how lazy and brain-foggy I've become. I irrevocably refuse to accept this as normal and I'm not going to let people get away with trying to.
From my knowledge, experience and understanding it takes a diet of raw living foods to combat this rise in obesity. The energy, hydration and life force is much higher in raw foods. Especially in fruit. Fruit it the most hydrating, healing food on the planet. Adding at least 1 or 2 raw meals a day is easy. Though it can be challenging to attempt a fully raw lifestyle. Raw foods such as vegetables and fruit have more water content and less calories. So you have to eat 2 to 3 times the amount to feel satiated. You will have to train your stomach to stretch so that you can consume more.
I'm currently attempting to transition into a raw vegan. It's been months now and I'm not gonna lie, it's hard. Cravings get the best of me. Cakes, cookies, breads and especially chips are my weaknesses. Our gut is our second brain. If you aren't feeding it the nutrient dense foods it craves it will cause all kinds of mental and physical problems. Why do you think we have become such a weak minded society who gets offended by everything? Hence being labeled fat shaming and judging when bringing up concerns about obesity. Why do we have a rise in mental health issues such as anxiety, narcissistic personality disorder and depression in this generation? We are feeding the bad bacteria in our guts and ignoring the good. It's like we've become a society of heroine addicts, except the drug in question is the food we eat. Our main source to improve our health.
There's an educational movie about this subject on Amazon video: The Gut: Our Second Brain. I highly recommend watching it. I don't agree with everything discussed in this movie. They have great scientific descriptions of the gut and it's effects on our mental health. But they also discuss how our brains were developed as cave men by cooking our food. They fail to see it took raw food to accomplish this. What were cave men eating before they discovered fire? Raw living food. Robert Morse's channel on YouTube: robertmorsend is also a great educational source on this subject. Dr. Morse is one of the most knowledgeable and caring men on the planet. He has helped so many people overcome mental and physical illnesses through a raw diet.
I've noticed when I eat highly processed or cooked foods (especially beans) it vastly effects Gideon's bowel movements and his overall behavior. When I stick to my raw diet (which is mostly fruit with some veggies thrown in) he is more content, alert and attentive. When I start to slip (usually on the weekends) and start to eat all the chips and cookies he becomes fussy and has trouble pooping. When I stick to nutrient dense living foods I'm more alert, am able to work on things and have more energy to exercise.
It really does not matter who you are or what camp you associate with. People are going to judge, disagree with and argue about the food they eat. I've seen it all. Meat eaters arguing with vegans. There are many different diets and lifestyles out there. Non vegans trying different diet, failing on those diets then arguing about it. Vegans trying different diets, failing and arguing about it. It all boils down to eating real whole foods and avoiding highly processed foods with additives, toxins and other things that will kill your cells as well as good bacteria. It's important to have an open mind and to do your own research because the medical industry isn't going to help us. They are a business and that business flourishes on keeping us obese and sick.
